New York Life International India Fund I ("Fund I")

Bharti Airtel Bharti Airtel Ltd ("Bharti")
Bharti is one of India's largest private sector provider of telecommunication services and is one of the largest GSM mobile service provider in the country. Bharti maintains a presence in all 23 licensed areas ("circles") where cellular service is available to customers in India. Bharti achieved a listing on the Mumbai and National Stock exchanges in 2002 and is one of the top ten stocks in India by market capitalization presently. Fund I has completely exited this investment.

Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd ("GPPL")                           GPPL is an all-weather port located on the west coast of India in the state of Gujarat. The port's infrastructure is built to world class standards and comprises 4 berths with a length of 1,075 metres for handling container and bulk cargo apart from a LPG berth for liquid cargo. GPPL is managed by its largest shareholder, APM Terminals, part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group and one of the world's largest container terminal operators.

   
Thompson Press Thomson Press India Ltd ("TPIL")
TPIL is the largest specialty printing company in India and is part of the reputed "India Today" Group. It offers the full range of print-related services extending from digital imaging in pre-press area to circulation management, with operations spread over six locations. The product range covers virtually all commercial print requirements on paper and board including security printing, annual reports, high volume multi-colour magazines, saddle stitched and perfect bound high quality multi-colour calendars, brochures and folders, books in paperback and hardbound, diaries and photo-composed films. TPIL is also a leading player in the publishing BPO space having facilities at four locations in India and one in Mauritius. Fund I has completely exited this investment.

Punj Lloyd Ltd ("PLL")
PLL is primarily engaged in the business of (i) laying oil and gas pipelines, (ii) executing composite construction projects, (iii) construction of tanks/terminals and (iv) civil and industrial construction. PLL is the largest pipeline construction company in India and the clear leader in horizontal directional drilling, with a number of subsidiaries in India and overseas. PLL completed an initial public offering of its shares and listed on the Mumbai and National Stock exchanges in December 2005.

Reliance Infrastructure Ltd ("Reliance")
Reliance is India's largest private sector integrated power utility company. Reliance has a significant presence in the generation, transmission and distribution of power in the states of Maharashtra, Delhi, Goa, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. Reliance also has a growing engineering, procurement and construction division (approximately 30% of revenues), which executes both captive and third party projects in the power sector. Reliance is listed on the Mumbai and National Stock exchanges in India. Fund II has completely exited this investment.
ABG Shipyards Ltd. ABG Shipyard Ltd ("ABG")
ABG is the largest private sector shipbuilding yard in India. A leader in the coastal and short sea vessels segment, ABG has a special focus on smaller special purpose vessels including vessels for defence purposes. The Company has constructed 95 specialized and sophisticated vessels in the last 14 years and has achieved a certification by DNV for ISO 9001-2000. It has an increasing export component with 90% of the vessels built in last two years being exported. ABG completed an initial public offering of its shares and listed on the Mumbai stock exchange in November 2005. Fund II has completely exited this investment. 

Emaarmgf

Emaar MGF Land Ltd ("Emaar MGF")
Emaar MGF, a leading real estate developer, is a joint venture between Emaar Properties PJSC, Dubai (a Government of Dubai promoted Company) - among the world's largest real estate companies - and the Delhi-based MGF Group. Emaar MGF is setting up integrated townships comprising residential plots, group housing and villas along with shopping, civic facilities and amenities, targeted at the upper end and mid-market segments. It also plans to develop offices, IT parks, luxury & business hotels, entertainment zones and special economic zones. Emaar MGF plans to implement these projects in about 50 cities across India.

SP Apparels Ltd ("SPA")
SPA, a Government of India recognized 3-star exporter, is one of the largest knitwear garment exporters in India. The Company specializes in the manufacture and export of knitwear, mainly children's and women's wear to large retailers in Europe and the USA. The Company's capabilities span the entire value-chain of garment manufacturing, post-spinning to finishing. SPA also holds a majority stake in Crocodile Products Pvt. Ltd., which owns the rights to distribute "Crocodile" branded products in India, through which it competes in the rapidly expanding domestic retail market.  
 

Trianz Holdings Pvt. Ltd ("Trianz")
Trianz is a global professional services firm that helps senior leaders execute business and technology initiatives through a unique mix of business consulting and technology capabilities. The firm provides management consulting, technology engineering and operations outsourcing services to a diversified global client base in a range of marquee organizations from Fortune 1000 corporations to emerging, rapid-growth companies. Service offerings focus on four key areas viz. Operations Consulting, Enterprise Applications Services, Software Product Engineering and Transformational Outsourcing
 

Bajaj Motors Ltd ("BML")
BML manufactures precision automotive components for two-wheeler and four-wheeler automobiles. BML is one of the few vertically integrated players in the industry with forging, casting and machining capabilities. Leveraging its strong focus on quality, superior product development and design skills, BML has established itself as a key supplier to leading OEMs and Tier-I suppliers in India and has a growing exports business catering to USA and Europe.
 

 

Pipavav Shipyard Ltd ("PSL")
PSL is promoted by SKIL Infrastructure Ltd, which has sponsored several pioneering infrastructure projects in India. PSL has been set up to develop a high capacity, multi-purpose yard for ship building, ship repair & refit activities and offshore fabrication including rigs and platforms, within the port limits of Pipavav Port, Gujarat, to leverage on the strong shipbuilding demand worldwide and India's low cost, superior engineering skills. Upon completion, the facility is expected to be the largest shipbuilding yard in India and possibly among the top ten shipyards of the world, capable of building special support vessels, large oil tankers, bulk carriers, container carriers and next generation vessels such as air defence ships and frigates.
 

Avestha Gengraine Technologies Pvt.Ltd ("Avesthagen")

Avestha Gengraine Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is India's leading fully integrated biotechnology & Bioinformatics Company, focusing on the convergence between food, pharmaceuticals and clinical genomics leading to preventive personalized medicine. Avesthagen provides innovative solutions for global challenges in agriculture & health problems in the areas of degenerative conditions, metabolic disorders and infectious diseases.

 

Commercial Engineers & Body Builders Co. Ltd
Commercial Engineers & Body Builders Co. Ltd ("CEBBCO") is one of India's leading fabricators of bodies for the Commercial Vehicle industry.   It is the foremost manufacturer of Tipper Bodies, and manufactures several other products including Load Bodies, Field Infantry Vehicles and Water Bowsers.  CEBBCO also has a technology tie-up with CTV-Doll for the manufacture of Trailers.  It is benefiting from the structural shift in auto body manufacturing in India from the unorganised to the organised sector.  CEBBCO has established itself as a key supplier to leading Indian auto OEMs. With a view to diversify its operations and de-risk its business model, CEBBCO started its railways division in late 2008. It has since been undertaking refurbishment of wagons as well as manufacturing of components for wagons, coaches and locomotives for the Indian Railways.

 

Bhilwara Energy Limited ("BEL")

BEL is a leading hydropower company in the private sector and the holding company for the power businesses of the diversified LNJ Bhilwara Group, which has interests in textiles, graphite electrodes, IT-enabled services, power generation and power consultancy. Through its subsidiaries, BEL operates an 86 MW run-of-the-river project and is implementing a 192 MW run-of-the-river project, both in Himachal Pradesh. BEL is also developing a 75 MW canal-based hydropower project in Punjab and has started preliminary work on three run-of-the-river hydropower projects totaling 290 MW in Arunachal Pradesh.  Malana Power Company Ltd, a subsidiary of BEL, has been awarded two more hydropower projects, totaling 340 MW, in Himachal Pradesh. The Company aims to have a total capacity of 1,500 MW by 2012.

Aster Teleservices Private Limited ("Aster")                    Aster is among India's leading companies in creating infrastructure for the telecom and power industries. In addition to providing a comprehensive suite of services, the Company also has in house manufacturing facilities spread across nine locations throughout India. Aster's major lines of business include:                                                          Telecom Engineering Services: Full range of services from planning to operations & maintenance for both, GSM and CDMA,,networks.                                                       Power Transmission & Distribution:  Manufacture and supply of transmission towers, sub-station structures, supplemented with installation and commissioning services.  Special Structures: Manufacture and installation of television and radio broadcast towers, heavy duty windmill towers, monopoles, and associated support services. Aster's customers include all telecom equipment vendors, telecom operators, television and radio companies as well as leading public sector power generation and transmission companies. Aster is also currently active in various Asian, Middle East and African countries.

Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited ("MHRIL")
MHRIL is a subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. one of the most respected industrial houses in India. MHRIL is a leading player in the leisure hospitality industry. It provides quality family holidays primarily through vacation ownership memberships. MHRIL's flagship brand is Club Mahindra Holidays. MHRIL currently provides its members a choice of 30 resorts in India and Thailand and in addition, through affiliations provides access to over 5,000 resorts, worldwide.
Saravana Global Energy Limited ("SGEL")
SGEL is one of India's leading manufacturers of high voltage electro-porcelain insulators for use in sub-stations, power equipments, transmission and distribution ("T&D") lines and railway electrification. Leveraging its strong focus on quality, timely deliveries and cost competitiveness, SGEL has established itself as a key supplier to leading global Original Equipment Manufacturers ("OEM"s), Engineering, Procurement and Construction ("EPC") companies and State Electricity Boards (SEBs).

Inventia Healthcare Private Limited* ("Inventia")

Inventia is India's leading pharmaceutical company specializing in developing and manufacturing of pharmaceutical formulations using novel drug delivery systems ("NDDS"). Inventia has expertise in developing sustained release formulations, controlled release formulations, combination products, taste masking formulations and oral fast dissolving dosage forms. Inventia supplies NDDS formulations and intermediates to leading domestic pharmaceutical companies and Indian arms of global pharmaceutical companies. It has recently set up a new manufacturing facility in Ambernath, which is designed to meet international regulatory standards. The company has a dedicated research & development centre in Thane which is approved by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Financial Software & Systems (P) Ltd ("FSS")
FSS is a global provider of electronic payment and transaction processing solutions and services for financial institutions, retailers, service providers and individual consumers. Established in 1991, FSS is a unique combination of payments technology solutions and payment infrastructure businesses. It provides end-to-end payments transaction processing & solutions. With two business divisions namely FSSTechnologies and FSSNeT, FSS is supported by over 1000 employees and has a global presence in 4 continents and serves over 100 clients.

 

SEW Infrastructure Ltd. ("SEW")                                  SEW is a leading diversified engineering, procurement and construction ("EPC") services company, with a special focus on the irrigation and hydropower segments and a growing presence in roads, urban infrastructure and power sub-stations and transmission segments. SEW is making a transition from being a pure play EPC contractor to an integrated infrastructure developer. The Company has acquired concessions for setting up 5 hydropower projects on build, operate & transfer (BOT) basis, in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, aggregating to more than 550 MW. SEW also holds 74.0% stake in Khalghat (Madhya Pradesh) - Maharashtra border road BOT project scheduled for commissioning by May 2011.
